Dr. Mirci's Counsel and Advice

It is better to take fewer hours and earn better grades. I feel it is helpful to take intro courses, especially if you have no background, or if it has been some time since you have taken a class. It is also helpful to review your life schedule - it is a busy time in life! Do you NEED to work as many hours as you are working? Could you work less and do better in school?

At the present time, to be competitive to enter dental school, you need a GPA of 3.3 and a DAT score of 19. The sooner you can come up with YOUR PLAN, which means picking a major and deciding what courses you plan to take each semester. Do not rule out summer semester when you can take one or two courses. Also, you want to take courses in a sequence that will help you prepare for the DAT.
