The Bioscience Undergraduate Research Program is once again able to
provide funds to University of Utah undergraduates who are currently doing
research in the biological sciences. Minigrant applications are now being
accepted from student/sponsor teams.
We will pay hourly wages of students whose proposals are funded, but
sponsors are asked to share costs with us if possible since this will
allow us to support more students.
Eligibility. The Bioscience Program will support full time
University of Utah students currently involved in research in the area of
biological sciences. Support may continue for two semesters.
If you have received previous MiniGrant
awards, please check with the Program office to see if you are eligible
for another semester of support.
Rate of pay: $7.25 per hour for a maximum of 20 hours per week. However, our funds are limited so please apply only for the number of weeks and hours you really expect to work, and please indicate the percentage of your total salary that the research sponsor will be able to provide. Depending on availability of funds and quality of the proposal, applications may be (1) funded, (2) funded contingent on satisfactory rewriting of proposal, (3) partially funded, or (4) not funded.
Application instructions. Complete either the New Minigrant Application Form or
the Renewal Minigrant
Application Form and submit it with the requested documents.
Please see that all required documents are submitted by the
deadline which is the last day of classes prior to the semester
for which you request funding. Applications should be submitted to 103
