Microbial Biology
The Microbial Biology Program at the University of Utah is a Ph.D. program of the Department of Biology that provides an individualized plan of study for students interested in the microbial world.
The participating faculty have cutting-edge research programs in various aspects of molecular, genetic, and evolutionary microbiology.
We do NOT offer coursework or research opportunities in immunology, medical microbiology, plant microbiology, soil microbiology, or environmental microbiology.
We admit a small number of Ph.D. candidates each year and provide generous financial support (living stipend, tuition, health insurance and student fees are covered) to all program students.
If you're fascinated by microbes and considering Ph.D. study in this fast-moving field, please explore our web pages to see what our program has to offer.
