Biology's Academic Advisor
Helping students with their future
Ecology and conservation

As the principal undergraduate academic adviser for students in biology, I view my role as one of facilitation. I am interested in helping students understand and meet the faculty's requirements for earning the Bachelor's Degree in Biology at the University of Utah. I am available to assist students in planning their academic programs, in evaluating career options and graduate school opportunities, and in meeting the general policies of the University as they relate to academic matters. Current and prospective students are invited to contact me for an appointment. Please call 801-581-6244.

My academic and professional interests lie primarily in the realms of ecology and environmental science. My graduate work in vertebrate ecology (wildife biology) at Purdue University has enabled me to work in the field of ecology and conservation primarily through college teaching. I strongly believe in providing students with a thorough understanding of fundamental concepts and principles of ecology, a sense of perspective about human interaction and impact on the environment (nature), and with the tools to evaluate information and work at a variety of levels to address important conservation issues.
