PUBLICATIONS

My interests focus on the relationship between whole plant water transport and local, regional, and global patterns of carbon and water cycling. Specifically, my research addresses the physiological controls over long distance water transport through woody plants, including xylem function and anatomy, the allocation and function of plant root systems, and leaf physiology and morphology. Current projects include: population structure of riparian dioecious tree species and its impacts on ecohydrology, urbanization impacts on native woody plants, drought response in riparian cottonwood/willow, and watershed hydrological feedbacks from tamarisk defoliation via biological control agents.
