Masters Programs in EEOB
In addition to training doctoral students, the EEOB Program encourages and supports students at the Masters level, both in EEOB generally, but also in two new and unique Masters programs to be launched Fall semester 2010. The first is a course work Masters in Environmental Biology, a program aimed at graduates interested in employment within a wide range of governmental and private industry opportunities. We envision this as a new track within the Masters in Science and Technology program administrated by the Graduate School. The second new Masters program would be research-based and focused on the evolutionary basis of health and disease and would to be offered within the EEOB Program in the Department of Biology. This Masters would fill a very important need by providing students, particularly those interested in pursuing an occupation in health care, the opportunity of advanced training in the biological basis of health, disease, and treatments, including for example coursework on nutrition, evolutionary immunology, Darwinian medicine, and environmental aspects of health. It would also provide the opportunity to do a research project.
